Sketch out a dream...

I saw myself on that big screen. We were singing a song we wrote some time ago and it found its way into a big movie. They say when you sketch out a dream and color it with passion it becomes a reality. We have a dream – "To be an Indian Rock Band that the world would fall in love with."

Today a part of that dream came true.

Watch RADIO perform its original 'Musafir' in Rock On at a theatre near you. We're there for a very very very short time, but none the less watch it…for if lyrics that were scribbled in an accounts note book could become a song like this…imagine what else could be done.

Here is a poster of RADIO for youprint it, hang it up on your wall, kiss it, sleep with it – do whatever you want to with it (try not deleting it) but yes…do watch ROCK ON and write back to us at radiotheband@gmail.com / check out our blog at www.radioreligion.blogspot.com / or go to www.myspace.com/radioreligion

ROCK ON - "Musafir" by RADIO

It was early December, 2007 that we got a call from Excel Entertainment. They called us in with any one of our original compositions and we hopped into their office the very next day. This was the time when Rock On was in the making and we had no much clue about it. We handed over our favorite track ‘Musafir’ and the director of the movie Abhishek Kapoor liked it. The very next question was, “Are you guys good on stage?”

Well, yes we bagged a role in a movie – not bad for a band that started out 6 months ago. The month was March and we had our shoots scheduled in Goregaon. They gave us vanities, food, clothes, hair stylists; make up guys, free coffee and what not. The sets were huge and the crowds were too many. RADIO dressed up in its usual ‘hatke’ getup and we were on stage.

‘Clik Clik Clik’ goes the timer, our song is blasting on the speakers and we were just jumping from one corner to the other. I don’t really remember what we did or if we even looked like a band, but entertainment was what we were there for…well, it happened.

So finally we came off stage and saw Shair n Func perform. They were simply amazing and so were Farhan and the rest of the crew. I didn’t get to see Arjun Rampal there though, I guess he wasn’t in that particular scene…but none the less I saw a lot.

Well it’s been months now since we shot and I can’t wait for the movie to release. How often do you get to see four guys who set out to form an Indian Rock Band feature in a movie based on an Indian Rock Band, about 4 guys who form an Indian Rock Band? Wow! Magic…isn’t it?

A LITTLE SOMETHING ABOUT OUR ROCK BAND !

RADIO is an Indian Rock Band that was formed in the year 2007. The four of us came together with an idea of playing songs that were built purely on rock and simplistic guitars, bass & drums and backing our music with lyrics in Hindi. But RADIO stands for much more than simply music. We write about life and its different colors. We know the true meaning of love and pain and how things get better after they’ve gotten worse. So far RADIO has played a list of shows around the city of Bombay and is working on a full length album. For those who haven’t heard our music as of yet, we are ‘dreamers’ and hence we write about aspirations and love. We believe that music can bring about a change in things and in people and that songs may fade away but an idea never does. We are four guys who seek an audience. We aren’t rock stars…neither are we poets or gimmicks. We love playing and wouldn’t mind dying with music as our poison. Well just in case you’re kind enough to read on and know a little more about us, RADIO comprises of Sharad, Terry, Aditya & Alok who play guitars and drums and bass and anything that we can get our hands on. We’ve been playing for years now and writing ever since we remember. Luckily, we all think alike and our songs are about love, hope, freedom and revolution. There’s not much about us that you’d want to read, but RADIO is something you’d want to watch out for. Times are changing…we live in an age where life has much more to it than mere survival. We live each day thinking about yesterday rather than tomorrow. Memories are worth more than gold and dreams are hard to hold on to. It is in these times that an Indian Rock Band asks you to dream on. RADIO is your band…live it!
